Ways We’ve Used ChatGPT’s New Agent Mode at beholde

At beholde, we’ve been experimenting with ChatGPT’s new Agent Mode to see how it could fit into our workflow. While we’ve only scratched the surface, we’ve already found real, practical uses — from crunching massive CSV data exports in minutes to helping define roles for our growing team. It’s not replacing our expertise, but it’s becoming a valuable tool for saving time, spotting opportunities, and freeing us up for the creative work that actually moves the needle for our clients.

What is Agent Mode?

Agent Mode is a new ChatGPT feature that moves beyond static responses into dynamic, task-based execution. Instead of just answering questions, it can run through multi-step processes, browse the web, analyze documents, and execute more complex instructions — all while you watch it work.

For agencies like ours, that means it’s possible to go from a spreadsheet full of raw numbers to a targeted, actionable recommendation in minutes instead of hours.

How We've Put Agent Mode to Work

Turning Written Reports Into Presentations

We often have to convert dense, text-heavy reports into engaging visual presentations — a process that can be slow and detail-intensive. With Agent Mode, we’ve been able to upload written reports and quickly get clean, summarized decks that highlight only the most important takeaways. This saves hours of manual formatting and lets us focus on shaping the narrative and adding our strategic insights.

This is where Agent Mode really shines from a time-saving perspective. We’ve fed it large CSV exports from Google Ads to instantly highlight patterns, identify underperforming keywords, and even recommend specific cost-per-click bids to test. While we could do this manually, the speed is what’s impressive — we can get keyword-level recommendations in minutes and reallocate budget with more confidence.

It’s not always perfect on the first try. Sometimes it needs a more specific prompt (“create a table comparing CTR by keyword” vs. “analyze performance”), but when used well, it turns data dumps into actionable insights at a pace that’s hard to match.

Building Strategies From Looker Studio & Data Slayer Reports

We also tested Agent Mode on data pulled from Looker Studio and Data Slayer. It’s not just about reading numbers — it can identify trends, compare them to past performance, and suggest strategic shifts. The automation reduces our manual analysis time and helps us move from “what’s happening” to “what to do about it” much faster.

Defining Job Qualifications and Duties for a New Role

In a theoretical scenario, we’ve talked about needing to create a new position that blends web design skills with technical SEO expertise. Agent Mode helped us map it out fairly quickly. Our goal was to free up the digital marketing manager from daily execution so they could focus on higher-level strategy while still keeping their strengths in play. Agent Mode provided a clear breakdown of responsibilities, suggested onboarding priorities, and helped define the role so we could visualize how it fits into the agency without overlap or redundancy.

Plus — based on experiences with personal use outside of work — if we need to add bodies and upgrade our furniture, Agent Mode can take a very specific set of parameters and find the best furniture for our situation. If you’ve ever spent hours or days searching for the perfect couch or table online, you can see the inherent value in this already.

Limitations We've Seen

Agent Mode isn’t flawless. Sometimes it produces inconsistent results — one presentation might be clean and well-formatted, while the next has stretched or misaligned visuals. Occasionally, it stalls mid-task. But we’ve found that restarting the session or refining the prompt usually resolves the issue.

Its “sweet spot” for us so far is pure raw data analysis — especially in spreadsheet form — where speed and accuracy matter more than perfect design.

Why This Matters For Us Going Forward

We see Agent Mode as a way to take the heavy lifting out of repetitive, analytical work so we can spend more time on what makes us unique: developing creative, emotive marketing strategies. Even at this early stage, it’s already showing potential for month-to-month use in data analysis, role planning, and campaign optimization.

The more time we save on the backend, the more time we have for high-impact creative — and that’s what drives results for our clients.
